With over 30 years in business, APS shares their knowledge with others. Operating on the philosophy that we are all responsible for the health of our environment, APS offers their knowledge and expertise to others in the following capacities.
All of the case studies developed by APS are made public domain for the sake of the health of our common environment. These studies provide others with an overview of solutions to common issues with control systems that result in reduced energy consumption and associated emissions.
Basic Pneumatic Controls Course
This basic controls course highlights instrument functions and various HVAC systems.
Advanced Energy Conservation Controls Course
This course offered through Toronto's Local 46 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, was attended by Professional Engineers and experience instrumentation service technicians. The President of APS was the certified instructor of this course.
Energy Conservation Manual
The Ministry of Energy provided funding to Local 46 to transform the above course material into an energy conservation training manual.
To assist in training, APS has developed demonstration panels to help others visualize how changes affect HVAC systems. With manual controls, an operator has the opportunity to decide what a system should logically do, encouraging critical assessment in their own buildings.
